Processes : a scary word

Processes - a scary word that plagues many areas of work, usually associated with a prolonged task, a halt, or even a developmental delay in creativity.

However, even if sometimes boring, processes are as old as human history, and mother nature itself is composed of extremely complex and necessary processes.

Looking at the very evolution of a human being, there is also a process to be followed:

  1. From conception to the nine months of gestation;

  2. Followed by birth;

  3. The first contact with the world;

  4. The first crawl;

  5. The first steps;

  6. Saying the first words;

  7. The entry into school;

  8. Making friendships and learning;

Which will eventually lead the human being to become an autonomous adult ready to enter the job market and raise his or her own family.

When we think about this process of human creation we do not question it, we know that all these developmental steps are essential, and we cannot skip any of them - if we try, something is bound to fail.

And if we can accept that this is a lengthy process whose steps deserve to be respected, why is it that when it comes to our day-to-day work processes we try to skip steps?

We often encounter this problem both in companies that are just starting out and in those that have been in business for a few years. With the desire to deliver the project as quickly as possible to the client, we sometimes forget the importance of the entire process that must be followed - the disruption of this process usually leads to unwanted surprises, missed deadlines, and dissatisfaction on the part of both clients and staff.

So, in these situations, the best thing to do is:

Stop, think, and only then execute.

This allows all projects are delivered with the highest quality, providing the satisfaction deserved by both the client and the team.

The satisfaction of the team is often crucial to the proper functioning of any process because only a satisfied team will garner good results.

For a good execution of a process, our advice is simple:

  • Analyze the problem;

  • Identify the best solution to the problem with the help of your team;

  • Discuss the problem with the client;

  • Execute the solution.
